Job Description

The Financial Controller position is part of the finance team of the JDE Peet’s coffee and tea factory in Joure. The finance team supports the factory in improving their performance and ensures the financial reporting is in compliance with company values and legal requirements.

As a Financial Controller you will be asked to drive performance improvement and at the same time be a master in execution. For this, we don’t just need you to be a knowledgeable professional, but also strongly rely on your interpersonal skills as well as your drive for success. With this said, we like you to support the finance team in their role as co-pilot of the business by:

  • Financial reporting: Taking care of the month-end closing and timely reporting in the systems
  • Variance analysis: Monitoring and analysing actual costs versus budget while having discussions and alignment with internal stakeholders.
  • Budget management: Assisting in the preparations of the budget. Preparing the cost price calculations
  • Investment analysis: Managing the CAPEX process by reviewing and/or preparing investment and expenditure requests and supporting project reporting.
  • Performance analysis: Providing financial insight through reports and analyses of coverage, costs and materials used in order to drive performance improvement of the factory. Identifying trends, discrepancies, or opportunities for improvement.

Qualifications

  • We are looking for someone with a drive for excellence, who is proactive and has the ability to quickly understand diverse operational processes.
  • Degree in Finance, Accounting or Controlling
  • Minimum of 3 years relevant working experience in the field of (operations) controlling
  • Given the nature of the role it's important for you to have a certain understanding of the production or FMCG environments
  • Hands-on experience with SAP R3 (FI/CO)  and SAP add-on software applications and strong skills in Microsoft Excel and other analytical tools
  • Strong communication skills to explain financial analysis to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Analytical and with the ability to meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
